Proposed 'No Waiting' restrictions at Wadeslea
In attempt to solve the congestion issues at Wadeslea new 'No Waiting' restrictions and Restrictions 2 have been proposed by FC Transportation Services.
These are not set in stone and the CC welcomes any feedback from the local commnity all of which will be passed on to FC Transportation Services.
Earlier this month Carol and Grizelda did a house to house survey to discover opinions on these. They spoke to 13 out of 17 homeowners/residents in Wadeslea.
With regard to the proposed 'No Waiting' restrictions on the main road at Wadeslea the feelings were pretty evenly divided from ‘excellent idea’ to ‘absolutely not’ so it’s clear that not everyone will be happy whatever happens!
With regard to the cul de sac the house holders unanimously agree that inconsiderate parking on corners is causing the majority of any problems.
However, there does seem to be a large majority who are very much against both sides of the road having 'No Waiting' restrictions. In fact, there are only three who consider that a good idea. The rest are appalled at the thought and feel it will make parking their own vehicles a problem. Six were against any restrictions apart from corners and four were OKish with one side only. If 'No Waiting' restrictions are to be on only one side the east side, on the right as you enter the cul de sac, would be the much preferred option as, at present, most people use the west side to park.
Both the home owners in 15 and 16 mentioned that the worst of the bottle necks are nearer the main road and other house holders further up the road toward the main road wish that No Waiting Restrictions be placed opposite the concealed entrances to allow safer exiting and to avoid the mirrors being obscured.

Is there a future for the Elie Parish Church?
In September a newly formed Elie Parish Church Group held the Doors Open Day and had around 110 people visit the church on the day. The open day gave people the opportunity to see how the church space could be repurposed and to ask questions. We received lots of positive comments and feedback from those who came along to the open day. Based on this we moved ahead with plans to form a Community Benefit Society (CBS) which would allow us to progress with a feasibility study and apply for funding to help support the feasibility study. We are working with The Plunkett Foundation who are supporting us in setting up the CBS and have a further meeting with them later this month to progress this. We have also been learning from other groups who have been through similar acquisitions and recently attended a meeting held by the National Churches Trust - Building Sustainable Futures for Scottish Churches which was held at Paisley Abbey on 1 November where case studies were shared. The group is currently working to obtain quotes for the necessary tasks required for the feasibility study which include an independent valuation, a condition survey by a building surveyor, a high level business plan and an architect to support with proposed plans.
We have kept the Church of Scotland updated on the progress and made them aware that the community would be interested in taking ownership of the church when it is disposed of.
